Right my brother had his iPhone stolen from a night out a while ago and i was just wondering whether it is possible for that person to go to a apple store and get a replacement if he "describes his phone not working ?"

Couple of my friends were saying that people they know have taken a iPhone into a apple store which it says "No Service" or something like that when they insert sim cards, and appled replace the phones or repair them straight away if its still under warranty ?

Yes, if the iPhone is taken to an Apple Store for replacement, they will replace the iPhone if it's determined by the technician, correctly or incorrectly, to be faulty. Apple is not the police and cannot get into a position of having to determine who is the legal owner of an iPhone; they have no way of knowing absent an order from authorized law enforcement or a court.

Apple won't just blindly replace it, not for free. The technician would have to determine that the iPhone is defective and under warranty. But if they do so determine a defect, then yes, again, Apple being unable to get into the issue of determining ownership will replace the iPhone. This is what any phone provider would do, to the best of my knowledge.

I don't know what all a technician will check, since I don't have access to their procedure list. All Apple will say is that they will not refuse service to anyone who brings in a iPhone for service, so even if the iPhone were to have an IMEI blocked (which is not usual for most carriers, by the way; many will not block an IMEI without a court order) they may well replace it.

I recently bought an iPhone 6s plus 64gb on craigslist and unfortunately, I didn't check the imei thoroughly before buying it. So about 3 days ago, I check it with Tmobile imei checker and it says the phone has an outstanding balance and could not be used on tmobile if the bill is not paid. I know I got fked up trying to contact the seller but I dont have much hope that he would ever reply. Today, I check again and it says the phone is blocked. However, it still works just fine. I tried run the speedtest and compare it to my friend's 6s also from tmobile. It turns out my phone is actually faster than my friend's.

Any ideas about what? Unless the account holder resolves the outstanding bill, it's possible that the phone could, at any time, stop working on TMoible. However, this won't affect it's ability to work on AT&T or Verizon.

You say it may have been unlocked through an on-line service. If it wasn't unlocked by the carrier, then it was hacked to unlock it. I would be very careful with applying any updates as that may relock it to the original carrier.

I was told by Tmo rep that once the phone got blocked it would not work on any carrier in US. But what left me wondering is why the phone is still working despite the imei check saying blocked. Ive been thinking if this guy applied some kind of hack on it to mask the imei or its just taking a lil more time for the phone to stop working.

that's what I'm thinking too. Chance is this guy used some kind of hack to kinda mask the imei. I did check the imei again with imeidata.com and it said the phone is blocked on metropcs but tmobile is still unknown. hmmm

How this is possible? I found a second hand iPhone 11 online in good condition. The owner tried to install iOS 14 beta and now he can no longer activate the iphone it appears this iPhone cannot be activated and the funny part is when I checked the IMEI number as well as the serial number on multiple sites it shows the same. Can apple fix this?

I asked the seller to connect it to 3uTools to check if the phone is legit. The verification report shows indeed that is in iOS 14 as he said but it appears that this is a demo device. Can this be restored to factory firmware with iTunes? becase FMI is OFF and used as a new device? or can be used only with a special firmware only?

When I check the IMEI of my Iphone 8 plus , the result is an Iphone 5s? how will i know if i have an original iphone? and there is no Iphone name at the back and inside the box there is no free apple sticker

The Keynote will be available to stream on apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple TV app, and the Apple YouTube channel. On-demand playback will be available after the conclusion of the stream.

Goto this link and type in your Apple Id and Passoword. it will tell you how many apple products are registered under your apple ID. you might find your Iphone Serial number there and IMEI too I guess.

Then I don't know what to tell you. Your carrier does have the IMEI number, all carriers keep a record of devices connected to their network. Whether your carrier will give you the number is something you'll have to work out with them. Good luck.

I don't have the box with me otherwise this conversation would not hv existed... and i had find my iphone activated... but Our judicial system doesn't rely on it... they need the imei number to rack it down...

Hi wjosten, is this iPhone and iPad Info only there after a backup through iTunes, or also when the iPhone has been connected once? In my iTunes I see both the iPhone and iPad data (CTL click on "About iTunes"), all of them, when the devices not connected (no iCloud) ???

Hi, is there any way you can find out if apple watch is stolen before buying? In this case seller has new watch, box is not opened so watch was never used or connected to any id, but he has no receipt or proof of purchase (saying it was gift), so it could be stolen from post office or in some process of shipping to someone who bought it, or from some store storage, so is there any way to find out if the watch is being searched for by some store, or buyer? If you buy it, and it turns out it was stolen ,can store or person who bought go to apple with serial number or imei number and track it once you turn it on or connect it to network and your id?

its not online purchase, i can meet seller face to face, so empty box, rewrap or so its not an option bc you can see that, my only concern is that it was stolen from some store, post office or whatever place can it be stolen from in original box brand new, and is that someone looking for it or can it even be found, I called two Apple stores, and their website, and Apple said no, if user didn't use it or connect it to his id, Apple cant do anything to help them find it or track it, only option is if it was reported to police as stolen and police asked network provider to track it once connected to it.

well yes i have some concerns, but the thing is product was never used, so there is no previous owners lock, because there is no any, its still sealed in a box, blacklist check is saying its clean, so, is there any other ways to check? Thank you

Again, walk away. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. You could be buying an empty box, or a counterfeit watch. And I would expect you are being offered a huge discount too, right? Your gut is telling you to be wary. Listen to your gut.

Its a new device, in original package, serial number on the box is listing device on Apple website, i am not concerned about the device, device is legit, i am concerned about device origin, or if its stolen. Since box is not opened device was not used, so there is no previous id on it, no one has it in search my or locked, my only question is if the device it tracked by police, some store or whatever place could be stolen from, if thats the case.

Okay, you're looking for permission to buy this, not advice. You'll not get what you want in these forums. We volunteers have seen too many of these sales go south and all we can do is offer sympathy to the user who was burned.
