Hi all,

Is there any tricky thing about how to make RadXa boot from PXE network?

As know that radxa (Rock Pro) is already has auto-detect of microsd boot sector,
just imagine if it some how also can do auto boot from PXE network...
pretty much interesting isn't it?

(Especially to help kernel development cycles, that will need a very much repetition of compile-flash-shutdown-deploy-start activities on sdcard)

BR.

Just figured out how to implement network boot on several resources (but I'm not test it yet),
eg. https://github.com/radxa/u-boot-rockchip or https://github.com/hardkernel/u-boot,
u-boot apparently has supported network boot even if with a limited network firmwares, so if we flash it to sdcard and enable this feature, we can boot kernel from network as long as the usb network firmware is supported by u-boot...

Seems u-boot more become a tiny kernel instead of merely a boot loader...

:)

Getting better on netboot progress guys,
already been successfully boot my RadxaPro using barebox instead of u-boot,
apparently almost everything required for network boot is detected,
including serial, eth0, usb, and hopefully also for wireless...
just need several touchings somewhere to boot properly by using barebox env scripts...

:)

Yepz, Me to,
but at least ethernet network boot is working at first step...
I just managed to duplicate boot method on Odroid SoC,
by using vfat /boot partition for kernel loading and flash bootloader on spared boot sequence,
kernel flash image replaced by barebox image which make required spared boot sequence smaller, only need at least 1MB (0x800 blocks)...

Btw, Tom, talk.radxa.com forum seems to be problem,
some menus did not respond any action due to javascript error...

Thanks for the report. I think it's ok now. The nodebb bothers me for
a long time...
