Hey guys and gals,

some time ago there was a talk about 3D presentation for RadioVIS receivers. Any progress on the subject? I have some ideas to propose.

Cheers,

Boštjan

Hey Boštjan,

This concept was spun off in to a separate developers group:

I'm sure they'll be excited to hear your ideas.

Andy.

Hi Boštjan,
glad to hear from you, sorry for the late answer (I'm just back . A group for the discussions have been created:
RadioVIS 3D -> https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/radiovis-3d-developers
As Andy told you, the project was spun off. Your contribution is more than welcome!

The docs are available in the group (e.g. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bwmhj0kP0mn-aXdKdng2ei1ld2M/edit?pli=1). A short foreword:
- at the moment, a new DNS SRV record is specified. However, probably it would be better to manage 3D capabilities like slide sizes (ref. http://radiodns.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/RVIS01-v1.1.01.pdf )
- we created a prototype, showed also during the RadioHack 2013 running on LG Optimus 3D and HTC Evo 3D. The backend was based on python Tornado
- however, our opinion is that an excellent target for the RadioVIS 3D could also be (smart) TV, with much bigger screen resolutions.

Best regards & looking for your contributions!
Paolo
