Hi All,

I’ve been running Radiosonde Auto Rx for several years now, and until recently I received one email when a sonde was detected.

Recently I’m getting multiple emails (sometimes more than ten) for each sonde pass.

I’ve reinstalled from scratch on a 64-bit RPOS Bookworm system (was previously using a 32-but Bullseye system) but it’s still happening.

Any ideas why, and how to resolve?

Thanks in advance,

Simon

Hi Simon,

That certainly doesn't sound right. auto_rx should only send *one* email per radiosonde serial number.
However, this lockout will reset if auto_rx restarts.

Could you maybe check your logs to see if auto_rx is restarting between when emails are sent?

OK, good to hear you found the issue!
(And I'm glad it wasn't a software issue in auto_rx :-)

Hi Mark,

I found the cause! It was a faulty Teckin smart socket that kept switching the power supply on and off. That’s four of these that have failed now, in exactly the same way.

Anyway, thanks for your advice on here and on Mastodon.
