Hey Everybody--

I'm planning on putting a radiosonde station up north, and need an
antenna that is a bit more rugged than my homemade 1/4 wave vertical
antennas. Temps down to -40C, winds 100 MPH, or something within those
ranges. Anybody know of a good source?

Laird used to make a 403 MHz 1/4 wave vertical, but now all I see is a
410 MHz version with some gain, not ideal. Their salespeople don't seem
to have S11 parameters, not encouraging.

Thanks!

Hi Bryan.

They are good quality, I've never had one break.

Cheers
Brian

You can try one of these. I made several using various materials. Wire, copper tubing or heavy pieces of coax will make a very rigid and effective antenna. Just a thought.
