Hi all,

I've now had a few reports from stations running the old "Auto_RX-Prebuilt1.3" disk image (from the riverland radio club), where their stations no longer start after auto-updating to v1.8.0.

This is due to this image having an old Raspbian version (Stretch or Buster I believe), which is incompatible with the latest Docker image. The same issue will likely be present if your station is running an older Raspbian version too.

Unfortunately I'm yet to figure out exactly what the issue is (since I don't have a copy of this image), or if there's a way to make it work on these old Raspbian versions. I don't consider trying to support Raspbian versions that are now 3 years out of date to be a good use of my time...

Instead, I would recommend that stations with a broken install update to the latest Raspbian (Raspberry Pi OS) Distribution, which is Bookworm. The Raspberry Pi Foundation guide is good at walking through this process: https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/computers/getting-started.html#raspberry-pi-imager
