Mike,

I would be interested to know where the signal source (54.309 MHz) is located that you are monitoring. I'm in SW Idaho and looking for a good constant source. I'm considering an analog TV station which is in Prince George, BC and is quite some distance away but it may work. I've just got to build an antenna for the specific frequency but would like to find some very likely frequencies to try before building a jungle of antennas for many possible frequencies.

Are any of the other 105 members currently doing any forward meteor scatter
projects?
I currently have a 55 MHz Moxon monitoring with SDR# and Spectrum Lab. I
also have several py scripts I am using to analyze the meteor pings and an
AI model to sort out meteors from noise. I would be interested to learn
what others are doing or have done.

Bruce,
At the beginning of the year I moved freq from 55.240 to 54.309 Mhz and it
is working fine.

Check out the rmob.org web site to see what observers from around the
world are doing and what they are seeing.

Also RMOB is on facebook and has a few recent posts.

Also the Brits have a website setup but i don't remember the link right off?

Hey Gary,
You did not direct your question to me but I can share something useful.
I live in Norther Colorado.  I use the channel 2 DTV analog carrier from channel 2  WBBM-TV in Chicago.  That is too far for your location.
I am set on 54.309.000 on SDR# and piped to Spectrum Lab.  I have a simple Moxon antenna.
There are strong DTV channel 2 carriers in Las Vegas ( KHSV - Las Vegas, NV (~500–600 miles) ) that should work for you.  There is another in Grand Junction CO ( KREX-TV - Grand Junction, CO (~450–550 miles) ).  The problem I have found with the Chicago direction is the number of aircraft that I see.

I have the SL script set to trigger at anything over 22dB and save a 60 second session log.  This is the raw data at 11 frames per second.  Then I use a py script with an AI model that has been trained on close to 10,000 events to sort the meteors from the noise.
