Denny,
That was a great display of a meteor event. This reminds me of the Leonid meteor storm of 2001. Did you see it? While living in Southern California at the time, my wife and I went with our astronomy club (Riverside Astronomical Society - RAS) out to the dessert beyond Palm Springs and set up camp for a few days and witnessed the most amazing astronomical event any of us has ever seen. Not a moment went by when there weren't at least two or three meteors at one time streaking brightly across the sky, casting shadows on the ground and then leaving long trails of smoke which lingered for several minutes and become twisted and curled by the upper level winds. There was enough light that we could easily see our way to walk around our campground without flashlights. This is something that I will never forget and the video you shared was reminiscent of that event. Thanks for sharing.

WOW, what a nice impact and that smoke cloud lasted quite long.

Agreed, some of the larger meteors are impressive in the aftereffects they can create.
This is another example of a great time-lapse photography was done over a year ago by Matthew Vandeputte.
