Here a demo of my SDR software for Radioberry, I would like to thank Johan for this project and support. I have build a first version of my sdr software to learn how SDR works and the radioberry is a great tool for that.
I use a radioberry from aliexpress and all is working well, yes the chip is getting hot but that does not seem to influence the operation, I am planning to put some fans on it in the future.

I use a 5 inch LCD screen with touch and use LVGL based GUI (lvgl.io) which I also use for other projects. I also use an ESP32 with a touch screen and an optical rotary encoder to remotely control the radioberry. Communication is done through Bluetooth BLE.

The main issue I had is that indeed you have to keep the gain low otherwise you quickly over drive the input. But most important is to use a very good power-supply. All standard USB power supplies are more like noise generators and will disturb reception. Best is to use a computer powersupply or even better a linear powersupply.

I have put a short demo on youtube

Nice work Paul!

I'm also developing radio hardware (not RadioBerry) using the ESP32, with the same type of LCD as on your module, and using LVGL on the ESP32. It would be awesome to have the SDR user interface and/or audio on the ESP32, but I suspect the spectrum/waterfall bandwidth is too high for BLE. Probably audio and RSSI, etc, would be ok though.

What is that motherboard between your ESP32 dev module and the LCD please?

  Hello Clifford,
Thanks. The ESP32 board I use is a leftover from my analog receiver project. It is an ESP32 vfo with two si5351.
I design the boards myself and get them from jclpcb. I made several iterations so I have some left over :)
With the radioberry I want the ESP32 to control the filterboards I also used for the analog transceiver.
It uses as169 switching ic's as rf switches works very nice. You can find the designs on github.
My latest ESP32 vfo directly puts the ESP32 on the board and use jtag interface to program and debug.

Paul,

Tnx for sharing. Nice setup.  You pointed also to VisualGDB ... hope to take a more detailed look...

Also tnx for the pull request... it was indeed on the list to change the header file. Best of course is to have one and installed.
