not compile, not Gateware

hi ,

i make a fresh SD Card , newest 64 Bit via Raspberry Pi Imager , 

i config SSH, VNC and I2C 

update, upgrade, 

cd /tmp
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pa3gsb/Radioberry-2.x/master/SBC/rpi-4/releases/dev/radioberry_install.sh
sudo chmod +x radioberry_install.sh
./radioberry_install.sh

You will install the following versions:

        Gateware version 73.3

the result is Gateware 0.0

The Rest should ok, i see my Raspi online.

Stefan and others,

The problem you are facing getting a 0.0 from the gateware can have different causes:

The main 3 errors

- The radioberry.rbf in the /lib/firmware folder is the wrong version.
The radioberry uses a FPGA . There are 2 versions available the cyclone CL016 and the CL025.
Depending on your board one of these types must be installed; during installation select the right one.

- The gateware (radioberry.rbf) is not loaded.

Please look into the kernel log (kern.log)

BE SURE THE ACTIVATION IS SUCCESFULL.


- The soldering of the ground plane of the FPGA and /or the AD9866 ADC/DAC chip is not done well.


Conclusion if one of the 2 last problems occur you should contact your supplier or do the soldering yourself; because this seems
in most of the cases the problem.

Hi Johan,

thanks, my radioberry is new. it has a new Raspi 4B a new sd card, 16GB and a new 7" Touchsreen. it works some days . but i destroy the image, because i install wsjt-x.

now i new start. i will flash a sd card by raspi imager . What Raspy OS i shout take? 32-64 and Bookworm-Bullseye and legacy or not? 

i have a alu Cooler on label . shoud i remove it to read CL016/25 or not removed the cooler? and test both driver?

Use a 64 bit version.

I think on your order there must be info of the mounted FPGA.

hi, it works better. Thank you, but i have no waterfall on pihpsdr. i think audio is no correct.
