Hi Everyone,

I've just started a linkblog using radioi2, and I have a question.

I've tried to insert the linkblog RSS feed,
http://static.reallysimple.org/users/vincent/linkblog.xml

into the sidebar of my wordpress blog, but it doesn't work.
Wordpress tells me it can't find a valid feed.

Has this been encountered? Thanks.

Hi Vincent!

I have a wordpress.com blog.

Where do I go to try to put it in the sidebar?

They keep moving things around...

I found the place -- it's under Dashboard/Appearance/Widgets.

I was able to add your feed to one of my blogs. Look in the right margin.

The problem is that our feeds don't have titles and they're expecting the feeds to have titles.

You can give your items titles if you want by flipping down the Title/Link/Enclosure section in Radio2.

We also have a way of embedding your linkblog content, but I have yet to write that up.

When I put in a title, which is the same title as the article, it
becomes duplicated in the post.

How did you get your linkblog in the sidebar at scripting.com, is that
an embed?

Yes, that's an embed.

Here's the embed code for your blog.

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://static.reallysimple.org/users/vincent/linkblogxml/miniLinkBlog.js"></script>

Perfect! Now the titles show up without having to paste them in.
Thanks.

Now I'd like to build a webpage with all my linkblog entries. I've
tried various ways to embed my feed but they don't work, including the
minilinkblog embed code. For example, I tried Google Gadget Creator,
but the page comes up blank.

There already is one. Look in the Links section, in the menu at the top of the screen.

Thanks. I was able to make one of the tabs on my blog link to the html
version:

http://virology.ws/news

I want to make people aware of this 'experiment'. I might also use it
for my virology course next semester.

Having done this, I would still like to embed the linkblog on a normal
page in the blog, so visitors can readily access the other pages,
rather than going to a separate site, as I have it now. Putting in the
html code that you have, Dave, doesn't work as there are some calls in
it that I don't know how to expand.

Well, I'll take that as a feature request.

You might also look around the WordPress world and see if there isn't some kind plugin that does what you want.

Or write a blog post explaining the need and I can push around a pointer to my community, many of whom are programmers.
