R/O Jack Lally (SK) ex WSL, ex SS SPRAY/KEJD had a great sense of humor.
Jack would have daily schedules on 40 meters with Sam Margolis, W2ERU.
I could barely copy Sam, he used a sideswiper, but there was more to the mystery of why I could not copy him.
He switched - without notice - between International Morse and American Morse and he used dah-dah-dah-dah for CH.
Dah-di-di-dit dit di-day dah-dah-dah-dah.
What the heck?

Jack, W1HDC noit only shared a love for sending with the Vibroplex - his first like all those at WSL had a top notch bug fist but we also share the same birthday, January 28th.
He sent me this card one year.
The card says:
"DON'T WORRY... ONE DAY OUR SHIP WILL COME IJN..."
WAKL DE KEJD
Inside:
AND WITH OUR LUCK, WE'LL PROBABLY BE AT THE AIRPORT!
Happy Birthday

Jack and I both used Italic fountain pens, another common interest.
