Has anyone crewed on the TT Williamsburgh or any of the “Brooklyn” class of tankers? I remember when SEALAND was building this ship in the old New York (Brooklyn) Navy Yard in the 1970’s.
Any experiences or stories would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike N2MS
I believe that was Seatrain instead of Sealand. Only four VLCCs in that class: Brooklyn, Bay Ridge, Williamsburgh, Stuyvesant. They typically carried little ballast and took such a pounding northbound in the Gulf of Alaska that hulls cracked.
