Capt Michael Burke - MV AMBASSADOR/KRFK

Every other month it seems, I learn of another friend who has died. For those who might have sailed with him, Michael Burke, who sailed deep sea with AMO, died on May 28, 2024 at age 84.

I worked for Captain Burke on the M/V Ambassador KRFK. He was a great guy, cared about his crew and safety first. He was an officer in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.

The Ambassador was scrapped in 2010. It went foreign flag when I was on it back in 1997, when they brought GMDSS on the ship as a Marshall Islands flag FOC ship.
