That would be our very own Denice "DA" Stoops, USCG radioman, first KPH female telegrapher (1979). DA was a purely commercial operator for almost 20 years. While I encouraged her to maintain that purity, dispensation to get a ham license was recently granted. She's now KI6BBR. She also recently upgraded her commercial license to a First Class Radiotelegraph (not easy for most to do given the experience requirement!).
The best part is watching DA on the air. She enjoys herself tremendously and says she didn't know how much she missed it until it was gone.

There was indeed another KPH YL op who joined the staff after DA paved the way. This was Lola who has visited the station and DA. Her ticket, along with those of all the KPH ops of the last phase of operation, remain on the wall at the station. We current operators would not think of posting our own licenses on this hallowed wall space. Ours are at a separate location awaiting the review of any Radio Inspector who may pay a call.
Hi Bob,
There was one other YL cw op at KPH, Lola Olsen. . I hired her in the early 1990s. TR and some of the other hams on the KPH staff highly recommended her and she turned out to be a fine operator and asset to the staff.

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me who the lady is sending that lovely bug key CW at
the end of the piece? She makes some errors, as we all do, but it only
makes the CW more human. Does she have a ham license?
