I would like to add that there is also a very attractive Viking ship museum in Roskilde, not far from Copenhagen. The Viking ships in Oslo, in my opinion, are beautiful - superb works of craftsmanship.

The Roskilde museum has a nice replica, while in Oslo you can see
" the real thing " + the things that were inside the ships when found.

I don't think the Roskilde Viking ships are merely replicas: - as far I
understand they are remnants or 'skeletons' of original actual ships found
chiefly in Roskilde fjord.
In addtion, there is a true copy of an original ship named (The)Sea Stallion
/S� Hingst(en)/ - if I'm not mistaken) which sailed from Roskilde to Dublin
and back about 1� years ago. I did an English language translation about
that journey.
