I found some more stuff, those interested in it, can ave them.

The old SOWP Masthead that Bill Bremerman founder of both Society of
Aviation Pioneers and Society of Wireless Pioneers produced. SOAP is
still alive, while SOWP is dead.

DR,

Thank you for your continuing interest in the Society of Wireless Pioneers on behalf of the Radio Officers group. The California Historical Radio Society formally and legally merged it into our larger organization in 2012. Waldo Boyd, at 94, was "the last man standing" and he was pleased that we would take responsibility for the archives.  They are now preserved in our Headquarters in Alameda (CA).  We are publishing them as we go along, with commentary:

It is our privilege to continue to honor these pioneers, so many of whom risked their lives at sea and even on land, for progress and safety.

We are also working on SoWP QSL cards, in the old format. We hope that any member who wants one will be able to order them in their own name. So more to follow...

Thats good news, Bart. Some of the radio officers are asking if they
can join SOWP, is that still possible?

I thought SOWP was dead. I'm glad it's on life support. Before I go
to the trouble of manually scanning the old SOWP logos, do you happen
to have the originals or the "CUTS" that they used on letter press to
print QSLs.

I'm not trying to take away any business, I'm just trying to give
people a logo of the organization they belong to.

Dave, SOWP amalgamated with/was taken over by California Historical
Radio Soc., some time ago & I still receive their very interesting
magazine.  I assume they, like most organisations, are always wanting
new members so suggest any SOWP queries might be addressed to them,
CHRS, PO Box31659, San Francisco, CA 94131. - or email to the following....

Hi Bart:

I am a member of CHRS and was a member of SOWP and I sent SOWP a couple of thick blue covered books that contained all the radio licenses for Canadian Vessels. Do you folks have them or know what became of them?

I do miss Bill at SOWP  He was a helpful and kind  man to us In many  ways.
There  need to be  more  like  him!

I got to know  him when I started my now  30 year Journey and Research Project and  Development  of   museum display  on the McCarty Wireless Telephone  Company,  He  was always encouraging and  I could  confide in him without fear of my research being  "Raided"

It  is very important to have  this  sort  of  friend as  though their questions and observations they help move  the project  forward  further than if you were just  working by yourself.

The McCarty Wire telephone Project is  still ongoing... and  after we get some  more loose  ends tied down hopefully Bill will approve of  the final outcome.

If anyone  has  any  additional information, photos, artifacts  ANYTHING  even a  small scrap  of  something though  you might consider it insignificant..

Hi Spud,

Thank you for your contributions to radio history!

Re the licenses, I don't recall seeing them.  I hope we have them.  We can not get into our RadioCentral HQ because of the virus. Bob may know, I'll copy him. If Waldo had them, we have them.

73 de Bart, K6VK

PS We do have the SoWP "Slop Chest," with lots of emblems, pins, etc.  We do not, as far as I know, have the cuts for the QSL cards.  But we can reproduce the QSL cards with the high-end printing we have used for the CHRS W6CF QSL cards. As I said, we hope to provide a template, then individual ops can get individual cards printed.  We love to see as many SoWP QSL cards in circulation as possible. There's an occasional 20 meter net, CW.  My latest info is:
FREQUENCY CHANGE FOR SoWP Net: Now at 14.044 MHz +/- 1 kHz. Read more about it from Dick Singer/K6KSG, SoWP 662.  (the RED is a link)
PPS Look at:  www.SoWP.org

Hi Bart:

Thanks for this. I was just wondering if they were still around. They are quite thick with light blue covers. No problem. We are not allowed into the Halifax Club Room with this COVID thing and I am in an apartment. The only ham radio I have is in my 5th wheel trailer and it does not look like we will get to that this year again.

Anyway, Bart nice chatting with you. This COVID thing scares the daylights out of one. Joan and I have had both our shots so we hope to see the end of it.
