Hi all,

I hope this message finds you well! I've received a few questions, so I’d like to clarify how team selection will work in categories where we have more than three candidates.

Team selection will be based on results from each event, where an event refers to a specific competition format—such as the 80m Classic, 2m Classic, Sprint, or Foxoring.

The top three finishers in each age/gender category in each event will qualify to represent Team USA at the World Championships. For example, an M50 competitor who finishes third in the Sprint event would qualify to compete for Team USA in Sprint. If that same competitor finishes third in all four events, they would qualify to compete in all four formats at the World Championships.

In some cases, the Team Selection Committee may make a special decision regarding a candidate. For example, if an experienced athlete who has medaled internationally is unable to finish strongly due to an injury during the trials, the Committee may take their previous performance into consideration.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to reach out. We want everyone to feel informed and confident about the process!

Best regards,
Nadia Scharlau, KO4ADV
