Hi all,

Below is the current list of individuals who have expressed interest in joining Team USA for the 22nd IARU World ARDF Championships, scheduled for August 16–22, 2025, in Birštonas, Lithuania.

🏁 Team Selection

Final team selections will be based on results from the 2025 USA Radio Orienteering Championships in North Carolina.

In categories with more than three interested competitors, only the top three finishers in each event will qualify to represent Team USA at the World Championships.

Special Notes on Categories:

  • M50: The fourth-place competitor may compete in M40 if space is available (currently only two athletes in M40).

  • W55: Same as M50. Since we have no participants in W45, fourth- and fifth-place finishers in W55 may be placed in W45.

  • M60: Only the top three will be eligible to compete. The fourth-place finisher may not have an option to move to a younger category if full. However, unofficial participation on “Team USA B” will be available to the fourth-place M60 competitor (and others who would like to run the WC courses for experience).
Team B members may also substitute for official team members in their category who are unable to compete and must withdraw before the competition (e.g., due to illness or injury).

🔔 Action Required

Please reply to this email to confirm whether you still wish to remain on the list of potential team members.
If your availability has changed, let me know as soon as possible so we can update our planning.

🧳 Travel, Lodging & Logistics

In the coming weeks, I’ll be collecting details about your:

  • Lodging/accommodation plans

  • Transportation needs between Vilnius International Airport (VNO) and Birštonas

To start preparing, please review the official event information:

Note: Staying at the official hotel (Sanatorium Eglė) is not required, but strongly recommended for convenience, amenities, and group pricing.

💡 Reminder: The lodging cost is separate from the event fee and must be paid directly to your accommodation provider.

💶 Event Fee

The registration fee is €280, which includes:

  • Entry to all events

  • Local transportation

  • Souvenirs

  • Banquet (Hamfest)

As in previous years, Team USA will submit a single group payment.
You will receive payment instructions soon.
➡️ Please plan to submit your payment before June 10, 2025.

📱 Team Communication

We’ll be setting up a WhatsApp group for all U.S. competitors and guests. This will be our main coordination tool throughout the trip.
➡️ Please install WhatsApp on your phone if you haven’t already.

❓ Questions?

If anything is unclear or if you need more details, don’t hesitate to reply.

Looking forward to a great team effort and strong showing in Lithuania!

Nadia,

I am going to be an International Juror at the 2025 ARDF World
Championships, rather than a competitor. I have been injured in various
ways since before the previous US champs, including a bone injury in my
right foot that isn't getting better, and just had a really terrible
marathon experience. I think my body needs time to heal, so I offered
my services as a juror this time around.

I am still planning to attend the US champs in June, but I am
undecided if I will attempt any of the courses (maybe just fast walking
instead of running) or offer my help as a volunteer.
