Context:

What were the demands of the people of Ladakh? Why are they demanding statehood and to be included in the Sixth Schedule? Is it the unprecedented land grab and the anticipated destruction of the environment? Is it the soaring unemployment? Was the state's response justified? Was the invocation of NSA justified? What is the way forward for the movement, as well as all those in solidarity with the people of Ladakh?

In this session of PUCL Dialogues, we aim to bring to the forefront the demands of the people of Ladakh and discuss a way forward to ensure the release of all incarcerated Ladakhi activists. We hope to bring in diverse voices from the movement, to capture the legal battles, the advocacy efforts and the Ladakhi people's fears and dreams for their future.
