Dear
Alex,
This
Friday, we are
premiering our special
series on Artificial
Intelligence beginning
with a conversation with
tech ethicist Tristan
Harris,
co-founder of the Center
for Humane Technology.
The
current AI trajectory
isn't just fully
utilizing our collective
data to wage wars. It is
extracting resources,
fundamentally rewiring
human relationships,
altering mental health,
and threatening the very
fabric of society. We
will inquire into ways
to remain human in an
era where machines can
simulate empathy,
displace our labor, and
reshape our sense of
what's real.

Together,
we'll explore how AI may
be ushering in a
'post-truth' era that
challenges discernment,
and whether algorithmic
intimacy diminishes our
capacity for love.
We'll
examine the risks of
outsourcing our inner
lives to machines,
whether bypassing human
cognition stunts
spiritual evolution, and
what Harris calls the Colonization
of Consciousness
by platforms designed to
amplify the Separate
Self.
We'll
consider the
consequences of AI's
increasing
decision-making in
warfare, reckon with the
largely unregulated
modeling of children's
psychology, and sit with
perhaps the most
humbling question of
all: can our collective
wisdom keep pace with
the complexity we've
created, and if not,
where does that gap lead
us?
We
hope you'll join us for
this special series
offering. Bring your
curiosity, your
skepticism and maybe a
cup of something warm.
This one might take a
minute to digest.
