LET'S BUILD TOGETHER AND TOGETHER THE NEXT WORLD SOCIAL FORUM Last week of January 2021 (Virtual - and face-to-face when possible) Organizations and social movements from around the world are invited to build together the next edition of the World Social Forum and to participate in its activities that will take place in the last week of January 2021, basically virtually, but also in places where it is possible to carry them out with sanitary security. On the weekend of October 24 and 25, two initial preparatory meetings were held, the second between the organizations that participate in the processes of the Thematic, Regional and National World Social Forums and another of the Expanded International Council with movements, organizations and global networks from various parts of the world (links below for the recordings and live notes of the meetings). All participants expressed their enthusiasm for the event, considering the seriousness and urgency of the challenges of the current situation and the need to articulate global and territorial campaigns and actions to face them. In addition to strengthening the dissemination of the next WSF around the world, several of the participants decided to join the organization of their Facilitating Group, which met on November 4 , Wednesday Your organization, movement or global network is also invited to this co-construction : to be part of this Facilitating Group , to be included in its working groups, to build self-managed activities that contribute to efforts to articulate and prepare actions. Below are the links to two documents that deal with the format of the next WSF and its main spaces and thematic axes. Its thematic structure are initial proposals that will be developed and complemented by the International Council and the Facilitating Group in formation. In the WSF event of the last week of January 2021, we will enable wide and deep debates on the overlapping crises of capitalism and we will stimulate the articulation of political responses and the programming of global actions; We will also have the opportunity to once again confront the World Economic Forum in Davos. This week will be the natural starting point for the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the creation of the World Social Forum, which took place in January 2001 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. More than that: this WSF event will continue in a broad and intense process of debates, articulations, campaigns and struggles, which will take place on all continents and throughout the year, towards the next post-pandemic planetary edition of the World Social Forum, which should take place in late 2021 or early 2022, which is being scheduled for Mexico. We will build the next WSF together in January 2021. We count on your participation. Please respond to these invitations to: forumv...@wsf2021.net, and indicate if you need interpretation into a particular language.
