Dear Colleagues,

We hope this note finds you inspired, whole, finding respite and in good company amidst so much challenging the planet.

We're writing to share word, below, of a first Fundraising Gala for Stop the Money Pipeline, a coalition of 230 groups (including Sierra Club, Friends of the Earth, Amazon Watch, Greenpeace and many others) formed in January, 2020 to "force the financial sector to stop doing business with the corporations causing the climate crisis and abusing human rights."  As the crisis of authoritarian rule deepens, the coalition is also training, nurturing and connecting groups focused on addressing this crisis, underscoring the myriad ways the financial sector is responsible for it.

For so many groups, Stop the Money Pipeline is a unique source of guidance, compassionate presence, and inspiration.

We hope that you will consider registering for the gala -- and/or, donating to this bantam, spirited group!  Please share word with others for whom this message might resonate.

On May 21st, we’re hosting Brighter Futures: our first-ever fundraising gala. You’re invited.

I remember the day we launched Stop the Money Pipeline: Jan 20th, 2020. I was wearing a bright yellow hazmat suit, occupying a JPMorgan Chase branch in downtown Seattle. Nearly 3,000 miles away, Jane Fonda, Bill McKibben, Reverend Yearwood and others were getting arrested for their own act of civil disobedience in a Chase branch, next to the White House.

More than six years later, I’m writing today to invite you to our first ever online fundraising gala: Brighter Futures. It’s on Thursday, May 21st at 5 PM PT / 6 PM MT / 7 PM CT / 8 PM ET.

To kick off the event, we’ll have a live cello performance from the esteemed cello-playing activist, John-Mark Rozendaal. And we’ll hear from legendary movement leader, Bill McKibben, environmental justice warrior, Roishetta Ozane, and several of our organizers who are leading our work.

You’ll hear the inside scoop from our campaigns. Have a chance to participate in a live auction, where you can bid on movement art, signed copies of books from movement leaders, campaign merch, and other goodies. And if you donate enough money you’ll even get me to do a cartwheel and jump into a lake. Literally. It’s going to be a grand time.

RSVP here to save your spot at Brighter Futures – Stop the Money Pipeline’s first-ever fundraising gala.

Since our launch in 2020, so much has happened. We grew from a coalition of 30 organizations to one of more than two hundred and thirty. Working together, we pushed the Biden Administration to implement important pieces of financial regulation, and we fought tooth-and-nail to stop big banks funding the Line 3 pipeline.

In 2024, we shut down Citibank’s global HQ dozens of times – and the bank responded by committing to reducing its oil and gas financing. In 2025, we supported the Tesla Takedown campaign at a time when other organizations were running scared of being associated with it. In 2026, we’re still fighting to hold Musk accountable for his actions, supporting unionization efforts at Wells Fargo, and making huge strides to pass transformational legislation that would force insurance companies to stop backing fossil fuels.

Join us on Thursday May 21st for Brighter Futures – and help build the fighting movement we need to win.

In Solidarity,
- Alec Connon, Stop the Money Pipeline coalition director

Please include ecocide caused by wind turbines in your efforts. Whole countries are burning under the excuse of renewable energy. Biggest destruction ever. Subsidised by governments, with poor people's taxes, desertifying, burning. Against all people's will and rights. At least stop promoting this terrible fraud
