Dear women activists, 
Dear human rights defenders,

On behalf of the mothers, sisters and daughters of thousands of missing persons and prisoners, we as Kongra Star call on you, women's organizations, democratic forces, and civil society organizations, to sign the petition  “Freedom for the missing and imprisoned people”.

Target Audience: International public opinion, the United Nations, and international human rights organizations.

📋 Summary of the petition

We, the undersigned, declare our full solidarity with the families of prisoners and the missing persons in the areas of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, Deir Hafer, Tabqa, and Raqqa. We condemn the flagrant violations and systematic repression perpetrated by the "General Security" forces affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government, which included:

• Violation of agreements: Circumventing agreements concluded with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

• War crimes: Documented extrajudicial executions and the abuse of civilians.

• Enforced disappearance: Concealing the fate of thousands in General Security prisons under a systematic blackout.

🎯 Campaign demands

We call upon the international community and relevant institutions (UN, CPT, Red Cross, Security Council, and Human Rights Organizations) to take immediate action to achieve the following:

• Prompt and public disclosure of the fate of all missing and forcibly disappeared persons in the prisons and detention centers of the General Security forces.

• The immediate and unconditional release of all prisoners and detainees, ensuring their physical and psychological safety.

• The immediate cessation of all forms of torture, humiliating treatment, and human rights violations committed under the cover of military operations.

• The formation of an independent and impartial international investigative committee to examine the crimes of field executions and document all committed violations.

• Accountability for the perpetrators and those responsible for these practices to ensure no impunity, as a fundamental pillar of transitional justice.

• The opening of urgent communication channels under international auspices (The Red Cross) to enable families to know the health status of their children and allow visitations.

• A legal guarantee against the deportation or transfer of detainees to other parties that may endanger their lives or further complicate the file of their disappearance.

We will collect your signatures until 17^th of march 2026.

The whole letter (you can read here) will be send with all signatures to the international bodies on 18^th of march – international day of political prisoners.
