Jhulan Yatra
From August 11 through 15, we are going to celebrate Jhulan Yatra, Lord Krishna's swing festival. This is said to be a pleasant time of the year, after the summer has broken and the monsoon rains have passed. The festival will culminate with Balarama Jayanti .During the festival, small Deities of Sri Sri Radha-Gopijanavallabha enjoy swinging on ornate swings decorated with flowers. You will also get to watch dance and other cultural performances in the evening during these five days.

Balarama Jayanti
August 15, the appearance day of Lord Balarama. Lord Balarama is Lord Krishna’s second body. They are both one and the same identity. They differ only in form. Balarama is the first bodily
expansion of Krishna, and He assists in Lord Krishna’s transcendental pastimes. He is the source of the entire spiritual world and is the adi-guru, the original spiritual master.

Janmashtami Festival, 24 August
Five thousand years ago, Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, descended from the spiritual world and appeared in Vrindavan, India. The original Janmashtami took place in Vrindavan at the house of Krishna's foster father, Nanda Maharaja. Learned brahmanas and astrologers led the festivities, and all the town's residents joined in the singing, dancing, and feasting. Each year since then Lord Krishna's devotees have marked the auspicious event in the same way. Devotees at ISKCON Chowpatty begin the day of Janmashtami as usual by rising and bathing early and attending mangal-arati. The festival class on Lord Krishna’s glories will begin at 9 am.
