MIUI 14 Super Wallpapers have been a popular feature since the MIUI 12 update, offering users a unique and visually appealing experience on their Android devices. These animated wallpapers add a touch of dynamism to the lock screen and the home screen, providing users with stunning visuals that come to life when unlocking their phones. Thanks to the efforts of the developer linuxct, these wallpapers can now be enjoyed on a wide range of Android devices running Android 8 and above, with the exception of systems that only support 64-bit applications such as the Pixel 7 series.
MIUI 14 Super Wallpapers go beyond traditional static wallpapers by offering two distinct animated visuals that seamlessly transition between the lock screen and home screen. These wallpapers feature stunning views of celestial bodies, such as Earth, Mars, and the Moon, and provide a sense of immersion by simulating a three-dimensional effect.
Upon unlocking the device, the wallpaper transitions into a zoomed-in view of the chosen celestial body, revealing intricate details and captivating landscapes. The animations are smooth and fluid, enhancing the overall user experience and creating a sense of depth and realism.
On some Xiaomi devices, wallpaper cannot be applied on both the lock screen and the home screen. To avoid this problem, apply a different live wallpaper available in the system on both home and lockscreens and then apply Super Wallpapers.
To switch between different regions of Earth and Mars wallpapers, open configuration app (this app will be installed automatically when you install wallpapers, you can find them in app drawer) and select which region you want.
The MIUI 12 Super wallpaper port from XDA Recognized Contributor linuxct has received a major update. The latest release brings several great additions to the collection, along with a couple of customization changes. Here's everything new in the latest Super wallpaper port collection.
The new update for the MIUI 12 Super Wallpaper port brings new scenes for both the Earth and Mars Super wallpapers. These include Greece's Navagio Beach and Italy's Dolomites in the Super Earth collection and Pahrump Hills and Bahram Vallis in the Super Mars collection.
Along with the new scenes, the MIUI 12 Super Wallpaper port now lets you select different scenes using a built-in, custom-made configuration tool. Thanks to this change, you can now access all the planet wallpapers from a single APK.
But due to the new single APK implementation, the options for "bright" and "dark" wallpapers are no longer available. Instead, the new release brings Dynamic brightness support, which automatically adjusts the brightness of the wallpaper based on the time of the day by default. You will need to set up light mode or dark mode on a schedule for this feature to work, though.
If you're someone who uses dark mode all the time but wants the MIUI 12 Super wallpapers to change brightness throughout the day, you can set up dark mode on schedule with a one-minute time difference. As linuxct explains, setting up dark mode to start at 4 AM and end at 3.59 AM will ensure you have both perpetual dark mode and Dynamic brightness enabled simultaneously.
Xiaomi offers Super Wallpapers in MIUI that can be installed on any Android smartphone. These animated wallpapers or "live wallpapers" display views of planets or landscapes when a Xiaomi smartphone is unlocked. In this tutorial, nextpit shows how you can install the Super Wallpaper for free on any Android smartphone without having to be tied down to just Xiaomi handsets.
HyperOS, the latest version of Xiaomi's Android skin, contains 5 default Super Wallpapers. You can install all of them by downloading their APK on your Samsung, OnePlus, Sony, Realme, or other Android-powered smartphone.
Start by downloading the Super Wallpapers APK from one of the recognized platforms (APKMirror, APKPure, or other) that you more or less trust. Choose the latest version to make sure you have all the Super Wallapapers available.
There are several versions available at the moment but the most complete and secure are those from the indie developer known as linuxct. He offers two versions, Super Earth and Super Mars, each containing several wallpapers. You'll always see the same image on your lock screen, either Earth or Mars.
However, you can change the wallpaper when you unlock your smartphone and the Super Wallpaper zoom is activated. linuxct continues to update its APKs, for example, with menus to change the type of wallpaper displayed:
Once the APKs have been downloaded and installed, you can set the Super Wallpaper as your wallpaper directly from the smartphone's settings, just like a classic live wallpaper. Take note that not all Android skins allow this. Personally, I did test it out on a OnePlus 10 Pro running OxygenOS 12.1 and had to go through Google Wallpapers.
As explained above, the developer linuxct offers applications for its Super Wallpapers port. Via the classic application, you can change the wallpaper displayed on your home screen once your smartphone is unlocked. It's great fun and allows you to switch up the mood a little.
It's not enough to have a Xiaomi smartphone running MIUI to have Super Wallpapers by default. Indeed, Xiaomi explained that only its smartphones with high-end Snapdragon chips, i.e. its flagships, offer Super Wallpapers by default.

The Geometry live wallpaper consists of shapes that move while interacting with the screen, however I am more fascinated by the Snow mountain Super wallpaper from Xiaomi. When unlocking, the wallpaper zooms out of the mountain peak. On top of that, the scenery color changes based on the time of the day.
The developer linuxct has gotten into the habit of porting the latest MIUI 12 live wallpapers to other Android devices. He began the journey by porting the MIUI 12 Super Wallpaper feature to other Android devices, which included Earth and Mars live wallpaper. Later, linuxct also ported the MIUI 12 Saturn super live wallpaper.
It is important to note that the latest MIUI 12 Super Wallpaper port uses OpenGL code from the actual wallpaper. You will need a high-end device to make them run smoothly. Also, it is entirely possible that they might not run at all on certain smartphones.
Note that this is a beta version of the MIUI Wallpaper app. You may see some performance issues after applying the wallpaper. Also, the app can be installed on any MIUI 12 device that supports the Super Wallpaper feature.
Xiaomi introduced the latest iteration of its Android skin MIUI 12 last week. Along with a slew of UI and privacy improvements, the company also showed off new planet-themed "super" wallpapers. As XDA Developers reports, their forum member linuxct has already extracted three of them and made them compatible with most phones running Android 8.1 or above, including Xiaomi devices thanks to a package name change.
XDA Developers reports that linuxct has created additional variants of the wallpapers. He uploaded them to APK Mirror. There are now two more landscapes for Mars called "Central Mountains of Hale Crater" and "Evergreen Garden." Earth has received a new "default" variant that zooms in on a river. The developer has also created hard-coded versions of the wallpapers that always stick with white or dark mode no matter what your system-wide theme is set to. That gives us a total of 18 MIUI wallpapers, which you can download via the updated links above.
This means that while the wallpapers should work on any device compatible with Google Wallpapers, some manufacturers may use their own proprietary settings for managing wallpapers, potentially leading to minor bugs.
When tested on a device running PixelOS, the Moon Super Wallpaper displayed a black screen before defaulting back to a stock wallpaper. All other wallpapers in the pack appeared to function normally. In contrast, the wallpapers worked perfectly on three different Xiaomi devices running MIUI and one device running Pixel Experience.
The SuperWallpaper mod from linuxct has been receiving consistent updates for the past few years, and some of the bugs listed above may be removed in the upcoming updates. The wallpaper package will be tweaked in the coming days to incorporate support for an even larger number of devices.
