Lovely hashers!

Wednesday Speed training on Jesus Green has started the new season, and yesterday  was our handicap 5k. Here are the results, with thanks to Stuart for the trail and organisation!

Position / Person / Finish Time / Handicap / Run Time / Comment

1 / Peter F / 24:58 / -5 / 29:58 / first finisher - no more -5  handicaps for you!
2 / Yilmaz / 28:53 / +4 / 24:53 / I had you pegged as biggest liar, having not seen Peter start.
3 / Linda / 29:05 / +1 / 28:05 / first *titled* lady
4 / David / 29:19 / +7 / 22:19
5 / Christian / 29:33 / +10 / 19:33 / first man
6 / Ben V / 29:38 / +7 / 22:38 / and multiple times through the finish afterwards
7 / Claire / 29:38 / +7 / 22:38 / first lady

^^^ a bit faster than predicted time^^^
****bingo line where run = predicted time*****
vvv a bit slower than predicted time vvv

8 / Gus / 30:05 / +5 / 25:05 / Recovering trophy winner 🏆,  1st on accuracy and 'productive'.
9 / Gosia / 30:11 / +6 / 24:11 / 2nd on accuracy
10 / Nick / 30:18 / +5 / 25:18
11 / Ed / 30:19 / disqualified for not respecting the starting twig.
12 / Jesus / 30:24 / +9 / 21:24 / order restored
13 / Kristy / 30:52 / +8 / 22:52
14 / Sara / 31:04 / +1 / 30:04
15 / Tom / 31:23 / +4 / 27:25
16 / Veronika / 32:10 / did finish, did respect the starting twig so much better than Ed.

There are always questions, so some attempt at explanation...
> Finish Times were time on official clock, with 30 mins being a run that exactly matched prediction (bingo line).
> Handicaps were how long after the clock started that the runner started, off 30 mins, where +7 = 30 - 7 = 23 mins predicted; +8 = 30 - 8 = 22 mins predicted etc. Our predicted-to-be-fastest folk started last and had the whole field to chase.
> Run time is the time the person took to complete the run.

More importantly, and easier to understand, there were recovery beers, ciders and teas at the Portland Arms after. And our time in the pub far exceeded our run times.

Come join us for Wed Speed Training! It's every week, for all abilities, and summer evenings on Jesus Green are the really nice time for it. We do a long warm up including various skips and things from the Ministry of Silly Walks, 25 mins of interval training (something different each week), and then some core strength exercises etc and stretching, before making our way to the pub. We have a facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/share/g/12J82rtpvk5

See you there sometime! On on!
