Oh what a beautiful morning! You definitely want to come join us this
evening for the ringroad run, don't you?

Meet 7pm Castle Hill Car park (the one next to the Castle pub and
Castle mound).

Weather: 1900 Light Rain Shower 9 °C NNW 12 mph 26 mph Very
Good - that's good running weather, that is.

8.4 mile route:

8.1 mile route:

It's the same as the 8.4 one but you turn right off Long Road just
after one of the hills and follow the off-road path past the stream
and the allotments until you rejoin at the Trumpington Rd traffic
lights where you turn onto the footpath.

5.3 mile route
Last week I did a shortcut - started the loop as normal but turned off
to run the length of Mill Road and straight through town back to the
Castle.

There will be a car for stuf. If you're driving, watch the bad
closedness of Shire Hall Car Park though >-(

And now the bit you've all been waiting for:

Poem of the week

A Dedicated Runner

Who are those who enjoy running?
Who shall tell them the rigors of flight?
Running in fair or inclement weather,
Swing their arms through the dome of light.
Everything mortal has moments immortal,
Dedicated and gifted, immeasurably bright,
So with the stretch of the road just ahead,
Behold, a shower rainbowed by the sunlight.
A roadway that is stained with gray shadows,
On and on with determination completes the run,
Delighted in the touch of the breeze and sunlight,
Delighted with the sweaty run - I am one.

(Joseph T. Renaldi)

See you later!
