vintage computing evening - Thursday 8th October, provisionally

Folks,

Thanks for the responses to the suggestion of a vintage computing evening.

I'm thinking of Thursday 8th of October as a provisional date. That gives us the summer months to prepare.

Offers of exhibits so far from Chris G0JTN, Simon M0ZSU, Jim G0LHZ, Dave G4RGK, Michael M0GVY and Dave G6AWF. If I missed anyone - apologies. Of course there's no commitment here - it's all best effort depending on what can be found. But with that as an approximate initial starting point plus whatever we can muster over the summer, I think we've got a meeting. I think I should also include contributions from anyone who doesn't necessarily have hardware, but fond memories should they would like to share. Think particularly of Tony G8TEE who mentioned the Grundy Newbrain.

I'll assemble the meeting over the coming months :-) I just know there will be too much content even now so we'll need to split it. But that's a good thing.

A way off yet...but feedback has been positive on this one so I'm planning to go ahead on 8th October.

Please let me know if you would like to take part in some form.

I'm happy to be loose on the definition of vintage, if it helps. Also - the definition of computing. eg. calculators included. Mechanical devices most welcome :-)
