Dear Members,

Sadly, I'm informed by Graham G3XYX's widow Judith that Graham passed away on Saturday evening.

There will be a thanksgiving service at Wokingham Methodist Church in due course, details will be passed on when received.

Graham was a great character, who over the years has helped the club in many ways, with countless PA setups/help both at club meetings and at rallies, helping with raising masts etc. at many field days and countless other things.

I'm sure it is not just me who enjoyed his stories of life at the Beeb. I fondly remember testing the new PA system at the Rugby club with Graham and Denis G4KWT, learning things audio and laughing, he had a great sense of humour.
He was also often heard on GB3BN, I remember chatting a few times on his 'morning constitutional' walks.

He will be missed.

Our thoughts are with Judith and his family.

Hi Simon,

Such sad news. I have often listened to Graham on the radio and the RaDARC Nets and will miss hearing him and his BBC memories.

My thoughts are with Judith and their family.

Folks,

If you have any thoughts you'd like to share on the website etc. please send me some words or pictures and I'll put something together.

As Simon says, I'll miss his razor sharp wit. That never diminished. There's many a night when the 4 metre net went on til late based on Graham contributing something wonderful to the discussion. A Merlin tank engine seen somewhere in a garage in Wokingham springs to mind immediately....

I'm likely to be offline in the extreme heat here so an immediate response may not be forthcoming. I'm probably going to switch off most, if not all, systems here during the hottest part of the day(s). Electrolytics and hard disks don't like this sort of heat.

Good morning.

I'm currently on holiday in south west France.  Last night was spent at the local village food market.

Whilst there I had an interesting chat with a gentleman called Keith Burton who knew and worked with Graham at the BBC for quite a few years, Keith was a camera man.

I informed Keith of Graham's passing and he wished to have his thoughts passed onto Graham's wife.

I'll be visiting Keith at his home later and hopefully taking a few scans of photos of him and Graham and will email them, should make a nice addition to the RADARC archives.

Hi All (with my RAYNET hat on)

Burnham Beeches Half Marathon & 10k run.

We have supported this local community event for more
than 20 years. Details at:

https://burnhamjoggers.co.uk/beeches-half/

We provide communications support to the marshals
around the race route.

We are short of operators to support this event
this year so if you would like to come along and
help out we would be very pleased to see you. This
is a very typical RAYNET supported community event
and so is a good opportunity to see how we operate.

We operate on 2m mobile/portable.
