Hi.
Mic EQ on Yaesu HF Radios seems to be a never ending discussion topic on the HF bands!
The following url lists many Yaesu publications and software. https://www.k9rod.net/yaseu%20radio%20information.html
Scroll down to and click on PCC-3000 Computer Control Software & Reference Book this will load the utility exe to your downloads.
It runs as a portable program. A pic of an FTDX-3000 will appear but its relevant to all models with Mic EQ.
Click on Prmtrc tab and normally choose P-Prmtrc.
A matrix appears which allows you to visually adjust, view graphically and save, all the EQ parameters. It is intuitive.
The attached is a combination of 2 screens. The black curve is the summation of all the parameter settings.
You can then type these into the EQ menu on your radio.
If you want to hear what it sounds like and looks like on air, go to a KIWI WEB SDR on 80m, I use the one in Chichester http://g8ure.ddns.net:8075/?f=10Mamnz10&sp which uses an 80M dipole and activate the spectrum scope along the top.
Open the bandwidth to say, 100 to 3000Hz and make a test transmission. The spectrum builds up a peak profile of the audio spectrum which holds for several seconds and decays with a slow time constant and I also listen on headphones.
Lots of fun and more to talk about! I have even been called on a few occasions resulting in a qso.
