Folks,
Next RADARC meeting is on Thursday 11th February, 8pm entitled
"Technical aspects of Meeting Ofcom Requirements for field strength
limits" by our very own Mike G4CDF and Dr. John Rogers M0JAV (RSGB EMC
guru).
Topic: RADARC
Time: Feb 11, 2021 20:00 London
Join ZoomGov Meeting

Meeting ID: 160 828 4578
Passcode: 259794
Mike together with John M0JAV will kindly cover some aspects of
forthcoming license requirements regarding permitted field strength:
* The RSGB calculator, and any improvements required or implemented.
* Measurement techniques using dipoles for VHF/UHF and how to calibrate
them
* The TEM cell (more for HF) and how to build one cheaply and use it to
calibrate probes both for EMF and EMC measurements. There are TEM cells
on the market for several £100 but one can easily be built from the junk
box.

What's a TEM cell?
There's a good description at
https://www.eetimes.com/electromagnetic-compatibility-analysis-using-tem-cells/
It sayeth "You use TEM cells for emission testing of small equipment,
for calibration of RF probes, and for biomedical experiments."
Many thanks to Mike for heading this up and to Alison G8ROG for
supporting Mike, further to her own presentation last August.
Please be aware we intend to recording the meeting so if you do not wish
to feature in the recording please turn off your camera/mic as
necessary.
Virtual Jammie Dodgers again, I'm afraid.
