Dear member,

The weekend of 4th-5th July is VHF field day. This is a 24 hour phone and CW VHF contest starting at 15:00 local on Saturday 4th July. We are currently planning to operate in both the restricted and open sections.

Once again we are planning to use the usual field day site at Sonning Farm.

Enter Broadmoor lane (opposite the farm buildings). If the gate is padlocked, the padlock number is 03065. The field is the 2nd on the left before the side road.

In previous years, members have generously helped with set-up and tear-down. We would be grateful if members could do so again. We especially need help with set-up, so if you can spare a couple of hours on Saturday, that would be most appreciated.  Set-up will start at 10:00 local time on Saturday 4th, and tear-down at 15:00 local time on Sunday 5th.

Ace and I will be setting up the usual barbecue for members to use, it's usually started at around 18:30 on Saturday. You are welcome to bring something along to eat and drink. We do have some chairs but I would advise bringing your own to be sure. Campers are welcome to join us overnight. We normally cook breakfast on Sunday morning at around 9am.

Members are very welcome to visit us over the weekend to see what we get up to in field day contests. The VHF field day is at a much more relaxed pace to the HF ones so it is a really good one to have a go at. You should also be able to see the Ham Van in action.
