On Thursday 11th May we welcome Karl-Arne Markström  SM0AOM via zoom for a talk on aeronautical HF comms and the Stockholm Aero Radio station (STORADIO).

"STORADIO provides the airline market with a long-range high frequency (HF) radio communication service to since the 1960’s. Using remote-controlled, high-powered transmitters and receivers with various directional antennas in Sweden. STORADIO support +300 airline customers and its pilots with a safe and secure air to ground radio service."

Karl-Arne was previously Engineering Manager for Air/Ground and Coastal Radio operations of Stockholm Radio and is now a semi-retired Senior Consultant for Systems Engineering. He is an associate member of the Swedish National Committee for Radio Science, member of the Swedish Board of Radio Navigation and has held amateur radio callsign SM0AOM since 1970.
