Subject: Reading International Radio Group meeting this Saturday.

An open invitation to anyone who's interested in a radio social, although it's about broadcast radio and DX, as opposed to amateur radio, but might still be of interest to some of your members. Maybe you can ciruclate details on any mailing list you may have on on your Discord group?

Saturday 11th April: Reading International Radio Group meeting: The Reading DX meeting at
Reading International Solidarity Centre (RISC), 35-39 London Street, Reading RG1 5PS. 1430-1700 BST. This meeting will be in the main hall. A £3 admission is charged.

BDXC chair Chris Greenway will give a talk about three covert
Cold War stations that were widely heard on mediumwave in Europe during the 1960s: Oggi in
Italia, which was run by the Italian Communist Party from Czechoslovakia, and two stations from
East Germany that targeted listeners in West Germany: Deutsche Freiheitssender 904 and
Deutsche Soldatensender 935. The talk will be illustrated with audio recordings and visual material.

As well as a break for tea/coffee there will be plenty of time for informal chat. The meeting is open
to non-members as well as members. Note: Access to the meeting rooms on foot is via a passage
at the side of building just past the RISC World Shop. Parking onsite is very limited. Nearest public
car park is Queens Road, RG1 4PX.

Afterwards, you can optionally join us for a drink in a local pub and after that, a meal, normally an Indian.
