Dear John,

I'm running a national top-band DF event on 28 June and I need an

operator for the second station. I wonder if you or someone you know

might be interested.

What's involved is spending Sunday afternoon hidden in a wood with an

automatic transmitter. All you have to do is speak when it tells you

and register the competitors when they arrive using a special clock.

It can be great fun when you hear them approaching and then going

away. We aim to make the antennas confusing.
