meeting Thursday 27th August: DMR monitoring + learning themed evening and natter night at RRFC subject to Wx

Folks,

This Thursday 27th August we're at the rugby club for a traditional DMR themed evening, specifically monitoring. Nothing to do with the Reading Festival which is also on...though we couldn't hear them last year (the radio traffic that is).

Venue:

Reading Rugby Football Club

Holme Park, Sonning RG4 6ST

Start time: nominally 7:00pm - 7:30pm - a bit earlier as the evenings are getting shorter(!!) Not critical.

We won't have access to the upstairs room so being able to operate outside is Wx dependent. At the moment the BBC is forecasting thundery showers so we'll have to watch that.

I can only speak for the eastern side of Reading but road traffic doesn't seem to be a problem now due to the festival.

At Min G0JMS's suggestion, this is a great opportunity for those less familiar with DMR to learn how to get started. I'll plan something a bit more structured as another club night. Thanks Min.

Also a general natter night of course.

The bar will be open.
