GB3RD net night this week and committee meeting night Thursday 16th October, events update

Folks,

First off, humble apologies for the delayed start of John Portune W6NBC's talk on patch antennas last week and thank you for you patience in waiting. Thanks to everyone who stepped in and did a 'turn' particularly Ian G8NXJ for his quick thinking doing an impromptu DMR demo with Tony G8TEE. Thanks also to Chris G4CCC for the repeater update. Thanks to everyone else who filled in, particularly Simon :-) John has stopped doing regular talks so we were lucky to get that one.

This Thursday 16th October is a GB3RD net night and committee meeting night, both starting at 8pm. Unfortunately we can't accommodate guests this time round at committee, however, as usual please do let Simon or myself know of any issues you may wish to raise.

For 4 metre enthusiasts, there is a UK activity contest  8pm until 10:30pm.

On Thursday week 23rd October, as mentioned, it's the autumn grand junk sale so there's till time for a clear out. (note to self).

On Thursday 30th October, Vin G4JTR has kindly agreed to host another top band net. So time to start rigging your top band antennas! (note to self). More soon on this one. It will be the usual frequency and start time (8pm) and I'll spin up a zoom session for chat.

On Thursday 6th November, it will be a Construction Evening at RRFC unless otherwise advised. There's a slim chance Blue Coats school will run a fireworks display. It's not happened for a while - just need to make sure it won't.

On Thursday 13th November it's the Great Construction Contest so time to start thinking about your entries! Again, more soon.
