Folks,
Next meeting is on Thursday 28th May.
We are delighted to welcome back via zoom the superb spacecraft engineer and communicator Chris Brockley-Blatt of MSSL/UCL (Mullard Space Science Laboratory). She will tell us all about the "Vigil" solar monitoring spacecraft.
Eyes down: 8pm.
Zoom info at the end.
"ESA Vigil will be the first of its kind. By keeping an eagle eye on the 'side' of the Sun, the spacecraft will stream a constant feed of near real-time data on potentially hazardous solar activity, before it rolls into view from Earth" - from https://www.esa.int/Space_Safety/Vigil
Like Patrick last meeting, Chris is very keen on promoting all things STEAM related (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths) with young people.
For this meeting, a few key personnel are unavailable so we may need help with setup/teardown etc.
Refreshments (tea/coffee) will be available as usual, with biscuits. Please bring a mug if you wish to partake. You are also welcome to bring along your favourite tipple.

Into June, the plan is for a couple of informal, themed practical sessions on military gear with the first one at the scout hut and the second over at Nick M0NPK's place. So time to start dusting off the "green" radios. FYI the next exercise "blue ham" is on 20-21 June.
