Christian Aid Walk 2026 - RADARC Radio Comms Support

Most of you will know that for many years the club has
supported the South Oxfordshire Christian Aid Walk by
providing radio comms between the Start/Finish and a
number of Waypoints around the route of the walks.
This is primarily done using the 2m amateur band.

The date for this years walk is confirmed as SATURDAY 25th April
and the organisers would very much like our assistance again.

As well as providing radio comms to the checkpoints they also
ask us to take on the marshalling role. There will also be the
opportunity to do some radio equipt sweeping or route checking
if you fancy a  walk in the countryside.

The walks will start and finish at Bix Village Hall as usual
with 5 mile and 10 mile routes.

I will be winging my way by rail to start our holiday in
north east Spain that day so sadly cannot take part this year.
Paul Nott (G7JCP) has volunteered to take on the job
of setting up the control station, assisted by Simon (G6ZTZ).

If you would like to assist by manning a waypoint or sweeping/
route checking then please let me know, with any time constraints
and preferred location (if you have done this one before).

I already have Chris (G4CCC) on the list to man Valley Farm.

Hi Denis

I should be OK for this event as it’s not clashing with the Sonning common Repair Workshop this year.
