Folks,

It's just a social meet this week 7th August (and indeed next week 14th) at the Park House pub on Reading university campus:

Start time nominally 8pm.

I hope to see you there but will be travelling over the next couple of days. I will try and be there well before 8.

As regards parking, I've never tried personally but the website notes:

"Parking in Campus car parks is generally free evenings/weekends and during the week is Permit Holder only or Pay and Display in Car Park 1A (10 minute walk). Please read signage in car parks."

Here is a car park map with a black blob where the pub is. Sounds like P1 is pay&display and a long walk away anyway. P9 and P15 look to be the closest.

Very good map courtesy of Gareth M7GRB below. "Here is a car park map with a black blob where the pub is. Sounds like P1 is pay&display and a long walk away anyway. P9 and P15 look to be the closest."

There is a small car park next to the pub. Last week I parked in P9 which is about as far away as you normally walk at the reading rugby club. Free after about 5 or 6 pm and it had spaces for about 50 cars with only 1 other car there when I arrived.

Fairly sure you can park in the car park beside the psychology department on your left,( enter at early gate) park after 5.00pm, you would have to walk along the path, across the bridge that's  on that path, over the lake and stay on path for abit then head half right  up to park house... A nice walk, not very far really..!  However the car carpark nearest to park house is clearly nearer
Julian.

Hi all

No need to park at Earley Gate thats a long way to walk and there is a major construction project going on there at the moment. New building for ECMWF to move into from Shinfield.

You can generally park anywhere during the evenings, just observe any disabled zones if possible. There are various car parks close to Park House, either Chemistry, JJT, and the Black Horse car park adjacent to Park House and also in the perimeter roadway.

For safety reasons just observe the 20MPH speed limit on site please.

Kind regards

Chris
