If you ask “who” the Outdoor Discovery Center is looking for after dark at Laketown Township’s Farview Park, the answer is “owls” — Eastern screech, barred, and great horned to be exact.

The nature center is hosting the Superb Owl Prowl, Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Farview Park, 6257 138th Ave.

The free event is sponsored by the Laketown Township Parks and Recreation Commission.

Hike the trails of Laketown Township’s Farview Park in search of resident and migratory owls.

|
The group will try to call in local owls.
|
|
Flashlights are welcome. Dress for the weather.

Suggested for ages 6 and up. Guardians stay with the class.

Laketown Township and the Outdoor Discovery Center have teamed up for programs at Laketown parks for 20 years.

The full list of spring and summer events in Laketown is not yet available, but past programs have included hikes at Sanctuary Woods Park, frog catching at Farview Park, blueberry picking at Huyser Farm Park, kayaking on Gilligan Lake, and insect exploration at Shore Acres Park.
