Good evening team,

I am Kendrick Chee, representing the Curtin University Alumni, Malaysian Chapter.

I would like to seek the input of your club for a program, "Global Values, Malaysian Roots", designed for secondary school students in their penultimate/ultimate year, to give them a brief idea on what to expect from and what to do with life after secondary school - SPM/STPM.

It is a 4 week workshop aimed at informing students about life before, during and after uni. These workshops will most likely be held before the trial exams, sometime between July and september. We are looking into getting parents strongly involved in this as well.

Life before uni covers stuff like how do you choose what to study after high school, how to make sure you don't end up studying something you don't want to, what you should be aware of when choosing a vocation to study. Basically, it sort of prepares you for life after secondary school.

Life during uni will cover stuff which you will encounter in uni like culture shock, challenges in adapting to a new environment especially if you are from out of town, what to do if your friends are doing stuff which you are not interested in but they are telling you to just do it anyway, how to manage relationships especially if you have never had one before this. It is all about the stuff in uni which teachers and counselors don't go into much detail but are really important.

Life after uni is concerned with readjusting back to your own culture (if you went overseas to study), the job looking process, how to find your own way of life and generally, what will you do with life now that you're done with studying?

Alright, with the details of the program covered, I would like to know:

1. Do you think this will be a valuable activity for your club members?

2. Will you and the club be interested to partake in these workshops?

If yes, please do let me know. We are currently contacting clubs such as yours to get an idea of how many youths are interested and what would they like to know from these workshops.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,
Kendrick Chee
