I’m setting up a new machine, and I managed to get myself blacklisted by git.racket-lang.org. Fortunately, I remembered that I’ve done this before, and (finally) dug up the thread where Eli told me that I could fix this by going to

internal.racket-lang.org

So I did.

First thing I noticed was that our self-signed certificate, er, has now expired, about three months ago. (Maybe all of us are waiting for Let’s Encrypt?)

Anyhow, ignore/confirm/continue, and go to the

https://internal.racket-lang.org/release-hosts.html

menu entry.

The page tells me that

"This page can be used to un-blacklist an IP address if you get blocked out because of some ssh failures.

IP:

This is your browser's IP address, it DOES appear to be blocked.”

… So I click on “Release!”

Unfortunately, I then get an error message:

"Error: denyhosts was not running”.

This suggests to me that something got upgraded in the last few years, and the un-blacklist-er is no longer working correctly. Anyone feel like fixing this?

(Or maybe just un-blacklisting me? My IP address is 108.88.98.131, FWIW).

John
