Practice release ends, real v6.2 release starts soon

The practice release is now over. We've had a chance to try out
the process for the split repository, and we'll post some changes
to the release process soon. We're unlikely to learn more by continuing
the practice to the end, so we will begin a real release (also with
version number 6.2) in one week.

The release process for v6.2 will begin in about a week. If you
have any new features that you want in and are relatively close
to being done, now is a good time to do that.
