we've been spammed

My apologies to anyone who was offended by the last post to this
group. I guess Google is not impervious to malicious activity.

I have deleted the message from the archive, and changed the following
settings of the group to try and prevent it from happening again:
~ messages from new members will be have to be approved before posting
(although this sender was not a member, so I'm not sure how they got
through?)
~ new members must ask to join the group (requirements are minimal -
just explain your interest).

We'll see if that helps any.

p.s. I also banned a member by the name of "pollty" with an e-mail
adress chenpeiqing7 'at' 123.com. Looks too fishy. If it's a friend
of yours, please let me know!

Well, with that new setting applied, I got 21 new membership requests
this morning, and all are fairly obviously bots. I deleted them all.

If this keeps up, I don't know that I can maintain this list along
with my new duties at the WSBA - maintaining Mailman and all that.
