We’ve been doing some work on human rights in the U.S. that we wanted to share with you.  Please pass it along to any others you think might be interested.

New Report:  Human Rights in the State Courts:  An Overview and Recommendations for Legal Advocacy

This report details the ways in which state courts have considered and interpreted international human rights law.  We hope this is helpful to a variety of advocates, including public interest lawyers, state court litigators, state and municipal policy makers, and anyone else interested in integrating compliance with international human rights law into domestic policy.  Please contact Sabi Ardalan at 212-334-4267 or sard...@opportunityagenda.org with any questions.  The report is available on our website at www.opportunityagenda.org/publications.

Public Opinion Research

In February, we began a project to explore public opinion of human rights in the U.S, which will culminate in a national poll, to be held in June. To date, we have completed moderated discussion group with social justice advocates in Chicago and Minneapolis, and focus groups with members of the general public in Chicago, Minneapolis and Atlanta.  We will be sharing the results of these groups in an upcoming conference callWe will be sharing the results of the poll in the Fall.  Contact Julie Rowe at 212-334-5321 or jr...@opportunityagenda.org to receive further updates, including invitations to the upcoming conference calls.

Thanks!
Sabi
