to Rachel's Words

Dear friends and supporters,

We felt it appropriate to write you for the first time since our New
York City event today, April 10, the day Rachel would have turned 27.
We have much to tell you about and much to ask of you.

MARCH 22ND EVENT IN NYC:
As many of you know, the Rachel's Words event in New York City at the
Riverside Church on March 22 was an incredible success. More than
1,000 people filled the church to hear Rachel's words be read and for
Rachel to be honored in performance, poetry and song. For a full
description of the evening and photos, please visit the March 22 page
of the Rachel's Words website at www.rachelswords.org

DONATIONS:
We are still very much in need of donations to cover the costs of the
event. The Riverside Church was a beautiful and symbolic location for
the evening. It was also costly. Please visit our website at
www.rachelswords.org for information on how to make a donation. Your
support is needed and highly appreciated.

THE PLAY "MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE":
Two days after our event, the play "My Name is Rachel Corrie" opened
on the West End, the London equivalent of Broadway, and the run has
already been extended. Reviews have been largely excellent. There
have been, however, some mixed or negative articles about the play
and about Rachel (most recently by the Washington Post). Responses to
these pieces are encouraged, as well as responses to the positive
pieces. (See below for ways you can act on this now.) Press about the
play is on the homepage of www.rachelswords.org. "My Name is Rachel
Corrie" will be produced by the Seattle Rep. in their 2007-2008
season. Plans are still underway for the play to come to New York
before the end of 2006.

AVAILABLE FOR SALE ON THE WEBSITE:
We have scripts of "My Name is Rachel Corrie" (as well as Rachel
Corrie solidarity bracelets) available for sale on our website. We
are also offering free DVD copies of UK Channel 4 documentary "The
Killing Zone" with donations.

PEACE WORKS CONFERENCE:
In other important news: on April 22-23, the Rachel Corrie Foundation
for Peace and Justice (founded by Rachel's parents Cindy and Craig)
is hosting a "Peace Works Conference", focusing on cultivating a just
and enduring peace for the people of Palestine and Israel. The
conference is in Olympia, WA. We encourage any of you who are able to
attend and to pass the information on to others who may be
interested. More information can be found at
www.rachelcorriefoundationorg.

EMAIL:
We have had some technical difficulties accessing our email which we
are working hard on correcting. If you have written to us and haven't
received a response yet, please be patient, we'll get to to it soon.

We have been extremely excited about the positive energy that
Rachel's Words has generated. We want to explore new ways to harness
this incredible and inspiring momentum and continue building on it.
See below our ACTIONS AND EVENTS, including our media action alert;
stay tuned to our website for future updates-and feel free to share
your ideas/comments/questions at in...@rachelswords.org.

Sincerely.
Rachel's Words
