RACHEL on an Ncomputing cluster

For a short while I am in Rorke's Drift South Africa.  We brought along 10 laptops loaded with KA Lite and 32G Rachel.  Just a couple of days before leaving the US I found out that the high school in RD had recently had an update for their computer lab to a 40 seat Ncomputing cluster using L-series boxes running Windows Multi-point server 2011 SP1.  There is a 20 seat cluster across the street at the primary school, also with L-series boxes but it is configured with Windows Server 2008 R2. There is also a a 5 seat cluster in the high school library that I haven't seen yet.

The I-net browsers at the primary and high school is V9.

I have been searching to see if anyone has implemented RACHEL and/or KA Lite on an Ncomputing platform. I have seen only one reference to such and have yet to get any hard information either pro or con on the subject.

If nothing else, when I get back to the US I will call Ncomputing to ask if either or both packages would run on these systems.

Hi Pat. We have RACHEL running on nComputing, and have had it working for five years here in Uganda in combination with Deep Freeze, and have had NO PROBLEMS. However, we are running RACHEL static (no MOWES, no no SPHIDER, only copying the data to a directory and pointing the browser to that "folder") but I can provide some assistance if you run into trouble. I'm travelling between Kenya and Uganda so I might be delayed in response, but in short, go for it.
