Hey all,

I might be writing an article explaining what dropper posts are and how to maximize their use, and I’m gonna be looking for some quotes…

If you use a dropper post, why?
If not, why not?
If yes, when did you start?
What the biggest advantage in your opinion?
What model(s) do you use?
Any downside?

Lemme know!

In unrelated news, I’m trying to make GG famous here:

1. Yes, more confidence descending for someone who has more legs than handling skills. Also occasionally it is helpful on a road descent in a race to do a ‘super tuck’

2. I use one because I am not a retro-grouch

3. My first MTB had one, so, as long as I’ve been riding

4. Biggest advantage: more confidence

5.  PNW components rainier

6.  They do add about a pound to the bike so if you are a real weight weenie…lose some weight. Seriously though even on a climbing race like Leadville I used one. I can’t think of a good reason not to have one

I do use a dropper post and I can't see myself ever going back. In my humbled opinion, it's the single greatest invention in mountain biking.

I love the dropper post for the ability to lower your center of gravity on the downs as well as the technical climbs. A true game changer.

I've had a few dropper posts ,but the one that stands out is the Bike Yoke Revive. Zero issues, virtually no maintenance and little to no stiction. The selling point is the bleed valve to release any air on the fly.

If you don't have one, then upgrade immediately. Your Instagram beckons!

1. My "new" bike came with one, I do use it, not as much as I probably should. I grew up without one, so if it's a steep-ish, rocky downhill I'll use it.
2. See 1.
3. Three years ago when I bought my GG Shred Dog.
4. Biggest advantage are the steep downhills, you can get low without having to hang your butt behind the seat.
5. SDG, came with bike, no complaints, minimal service so far.
6. Weight, but that's it. Thinking of getting one for my Yelli Screamy hardtail.
